Google Opens Limited Access to Bard

Google's Bard is just about ready for users. The tech giant has opened it for early access to a limited number of users.

Bard is Google's first standalone consumer AI product, built on their AI technology, LaMDA, and trained on text data from the open web and Google Search results.

Meant to rival Microsoft's ChatGPT, Bard will focus on generating answers in English only for now. During a live demonstration, Google showed how the Bard instantly produces blocks of text, different from how ChatGPT types out answers word by word.

Users will also be offered three answer drafts and a "Google it" button for web search results.

However, Google has warned that Bard may still display inaccurate or offensive information. The company is also limiting the length of conversations for safety reasons but plans to increase these limits over time.

Those interested can join a waitlist, but only those located in the US and UK can sign up for now. More users, countries, and languages will be added over time.
